my latest painting in the «salud» series in its original state and re-interpreted for a cozy pillow (a gift set). painting this was fun. i created the gift set for my dear friend miriam, who was a fellow doctoral student in clincal psychology — before i made the difficult, heartbreaking, and correct decision to stop my training (this was my second attempt, doing everything but dissertation and internship). i emailed the faculty and students to let them know i was leaving, and shared my contact information with them. miriam was 1 of 2 people to reach out, and through many conversations she became a dear friend. she also greatly influenced the design of the heart in my «salud: COVID bubble» mural. on her birthday i created this gift set for her, incorporating her favorite flowers.
